Aldi install Watchman Alarms in oil filled stores within Ireland

The smooth supply of heating oil is a serious issue when you are managing a national chain of retail outlets. That is why Irish facilities management company Contract Services turned to Kingspan's Watchman Alarm to solve an ongoing problem with heating oil running out for their client Aldi.

Contract Services are facilities managers for Aldi's network of stores throughout Ireland, and they are always looking for more efficient ways to solve in-store problems. "Inconsistency managing the supply of heating oil in-store was a big issue. There was just no simple way for Aldi store managers to monitor how much heating oil was left in the tank until it was too late. When the oil ran out the heating system would airlock, and cost money to fix, leaving a store without heating," says Brian Fitzpatrick of Contract Services. Fitzpatrick found the answer to his problem when he went online to do some research.

I found the Watchman Alarm and soon realised that it was the solution and I ordered them through our local branch of Heiton Buckley in Santry," he says. "Now Aldi store managers get a reminder from the alarm when it is time to reorder heating oil, which means the stores are warm all of the time and there are no maintenance costs from the system closing down" says Fitzpatrick. "It is great technology because it makes our job of running the stores easier. It also reduces costs for Aldi, and makes the retail experience much better for customers," concludes Fitzpatrick.
